Helena Athoussaki, Director and CEO of Carbon Positive Services, is also a consultant to Carbon Positive Trading Limited Ltd (CPTL), a director of General Investments and Promotions Ltd (GIPL), Managing Director of Dreamtech Software Ltd and an advisor to Eurofin SA. Previously Helena worked as a strategic consultant for private equity groups and provided strategic advisory services and operational engagements for their ICT (Information Communication Technology) investments. Helena worked for British Telecom in its UK research labs where she headed a JV project with Microsoft on interactive and immersive media. She has also worked with Cable and Wireless Plc and Tellas SA (a subsidiary of Wind Telecoms) in strategic marketing, wholesale businesses and special projects within the telecoms industry. Helena was a co-founder of Xintra Ltd a UK-based e-business solutions company where she worked as the Strategic Marketing Director. Helena has an MBA from ALBA (Greece) and also has an MA in Design and Development for Interactive Media from the University of Middlesex where she published a paper on Virtual Reality. She also holds executive degrees from the London Business School in Finance and Accounting, Hedge Funds and M&A as well as in Private Equity from the Said Business School, Oxford.
John Palmisano, Commercial Director, is one of the pioneers of emissions trading with more than 25 years experience creating and implementing environmental policies and developing both consulting and transactional businesses. Since 1977, he has advised governments, industry and trade associations on how to benefit from environmental trading related to greenhouse gases (GHGs), SOx, NOx and other pollutants. He created the first emissions brokerage business, AER*X, and founded three “green” NGOs that promote greenhouse gas trading - Russia’s CEEM, Ukraine’s FDEEM and the European Business Council for Sustainable Energy, e5, in Germany. John has been a consultant to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), US AID, US Congress, European Union, United Nations, World Bank and the Russian, Ukrainian and Canadian governments covering virtually every aspect of emissions trading. He has also advised the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and many US and international companies on emissions trading, climate change policies and related commercial opportunities. John has managed emissions trading and climate change policy consulting offices in Washington DC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, Kiev and Hong Kong.
Ian Hamilton, Communications Manager,
is a finance journalist with experience reporting on financial markets
and personal investment for a number of media outlets including BBC
News Online, FT.com, The Australian newspaper and the Sydney Morning
Herald. Prior to that, he worked as a finance writer and reporter for Australian
Financial Press and as a producer at Radio 2GB and
Radio 2UE in Sydney where he won the Order of Australia
Association’s media prize in 1990 jointly with Brian White. Since 2005,
Ian has edited the Carbon Positive News e-newsletter on carbon markets
and climate change, managed the associated web portal
carbonpositive.net, and in 2006 reported on emissions
trading developments in Australia and New Zealand for Point Carbon. Over that time he has developed
specialist knowledge of the world’s emerging greenhouse emissions
markets. He has a Bachelor degree in Economics from Macquarie
University.
